Focused, insight‑oriented and neuroaffirming therapy for stress, anxiety, depression, burnout and relationship difficulties

About Me

I am a Maudsley‑trained Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist based in Blackheath Village, London. My background as a psychiatrist provides clinical rigour and depth to the therapeutic process, while my psychodynamic training at the Anna Freud Centre shapes the reflective, relational way I work.

I offer focused, insight‑oriented psychotherapy for adults. Many people come to me when they feel stuck in repeating emotional or relational patterns, or when previous approaches have not reached the root of their difficulties. I work in a steady, attuned and structured way, helping you make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface and supporting change that feels meaningful and lasting. I offer a calm, containing space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels manageable.

My Approach

I offer Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), a time‑limited psychodynamic therapy recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and known to be effective for depression and anxiety. DIT usually takes place over 16 weekly sessions, with the option to extend the work when clinically helpful. The time‑limited structure means the therapy is focused and in‑depth, helping you identify a core emotional or relational pattern and work with it directly.

DIT has a dual focus on interpersonal and affective issues. It supports you to understand how past experiences and relationship dynamics shape current emotional distress, and how these patterns may be repeating in the present. This understanding helps you recognise the emotional patterns that contribute to depression and anxiety, and the relational patterns that may be keeping you stuck in familiar cycles. By working directly with these patterns, DIT supports you to develop healthier ways of relating, regulating emotions and responding to stress, which can lead to meaningful improvements in mood, relationships and overall wellbeing.

Areas I Work With

Neuroaffirming Practice

My practice is neuroaffirming, where autism is embraced as a valid neurotype. I work in a way that respects the diversity of communication styles, sensory needs and processing differences people bring to therapy. I have supported autistic adults at different stages of their journey, whether they are newly diagnosed, have been diagnosed for years, self‑identified or beginning to explore whether they may be autistic. Sessions are paced thoughtfully and collaboratively, with predictability and structure to help you feel settled and able to engage at depth. Together we pay attention to how your inner world and interpersonal experiences interact, including the impact of masking, chronic stress, autistic burnout or feeling misunderstood in relationships or at work.

I adapt the therapy to your needs, whether that means allowing more time to think, reducing social pressure in the room, supporting clearer transitions between topics, or working with the emotional impact of past invalidation. I offer a steady, containing space where you can explore your experiences in a way that feels manageable and respectful of who you are.
